About the title - This project is a follow up to the My 70th Year project that documented, on Polaroid film, My Year of Living Instantly. That project ran from August 13, 2023 through August 12, 2024. Literally, my 70th year. The photographs from that project, all 366 Polaroids, can be seen at My 70th Year. After the completion of that year-long project I look forward to Every Day After.

The Plan - Take photographs every day, and choose one for posting on this site. This will not be a portfolio. In many cases it will be my effort to just figure things out. Occasionally a posting may be delayed because more processing or thought/time is needed before it is ready. I may pull a past image, “improve” it, and repost for its day. Basically, no rules (or just my rules) except one photograph each day.

I hope you enjoy what you see or are curious about it.

October 2, 2024. Inside/Outside. I've tried to get what I'm looking for with this shot before. Not there yet.

October 1, 2023. Some fun in the studio. No digital trickery here. Just some ingenuity and the right gear.

August 30, 2024. Windows of all kinds. More work on techniques. Main Street, Fremont, Nebraska.

August 29, 2024. Working on some techniques. Keeping the verticals straight, and shooting "down the line" on a building.

August 28, 2024. The small town in which I grew up (then pop. 140) was substantially destroyed by a flood in 2019. The local fire departments are now doing controlled burns of some of the abandoned, derelict houses. It is just a coincidence that I'm in the area visiting family and friends.

August 26, 2024. Architectural diversity.

August 15, 2024. Another try at this one. Slightly different shadows.

August 13, 2024. In the midst of a week-long jury duty obligation, so finding courthouse images. This one gives me an Edward Hopper vibe.

August 16, 2024. Star light, star bright.

August 18, 2024. If you've looked at my Polaroid project you will recognize this one-armed statue. Tried hard to get a good image on Polaroid film. Digital is easier!
